Childrens Hosptial #2
The Children’s Hospital #2 is the largest pediatric hospital in District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) and is located on a huge well landscaped campus. The prominent director Tran Dong A and his staff have a great reputation for undertaking challenging surgical cases, including a Siamese Twin separation and a recent partial infant liver transplant from mother to her child.
Presently, there are more than 30 infants and children being cared for in the cardiac ward and since there is no surgical facility at this site, many of these patients are required to wait more than 6 months for the opportunity to have their hearts repaired. SAORE Foundation has offered to raise funds to provide this hospital with the necessary equipment to eliminate this wait. Dr. Dong A has offered to name this future unit after an American veteran who was killed during the war.
