HEART TO HEART CHARITY MISSION SUCCESS

Paris and Damien Hicks

The Heart to Heart Mission was conceived as a result of the generosity of newly weds Paris and Damien Hicks, who appealed to all their guests to pledge their wedding gifts as donations to fund the SAORE Foundation.

This unique and dynamic couple were married on October 5, 2005. Their commendable gesture of love and giving resulted in the payment for the heart surgery of eleven year old Tran Trong Trai, who resided in a small thatched-roof house on a muddy riverbank near the city of Camau, Vietnam.  The wedding funds were also utilized to assist other crippled, disabled youngsters who had been living with broken bodies and damaged hearts.

Trai had been diagnosed with a congenital heart problem and because of his weakness, was prevented from attending school. He had his surgery in November 2005 and will finally be returning to school this fall. His new smile, since his surgery, reflects a bright inner-light of hope he has now found through the SAORE  Foundation’s positive actions.
